Have you seen the statistics for child hunger and, sadly, death in the world?
I just did and the numbers are astonishing.
Every day, over 30,000 children die of hunger or preventable diseases. Every year, nearly 11 million children die before their fifth birthday. Adequate medical care is unavailable to so many. – My Neighbor’s Children (About M.N.C.)
At Crate of Good, we work to do our part to reduce statistics like these. One such way we do so is by partnering with nonprofits like My Neighbor’s Children.
Who is My Neighbor’s Children?
This amazing organization’s sole purpose is to help the children and their families, particularly those living in poverty.
Their mission is to impact the lives of children in a way that allows them to develop and grow. They accomplish this through development, sponsorship and advocacy programs. They seek to understand the needs of these children, and then create real change for their wellbeing.
A huge way they are able to do this is through their No Child Hungry feeding mission. These meal packing events and food drives, give My Neighbor’s Children the ability to provide food for children all over the US and abroad.
What is in the meal packet?
Certified and regulated by the FDA, these meal packets contain the nutrition a child needs each day. It contains 21 minerals and vitamins along with soy protein and rice. The cost of the meals is only $0.30 (30 CENTS!) per meal, and fifty people can pack over 10,000 meals in less than two hours. How amazing is that!?
These “meal packing events” can feed children far and wide. The best part is that My Neighbor’s Children can host the event for you-your church, group, office, community, team, etc-at your location. That’s right, they will come to you! Just imagine hosting one of these events knowing you can help pack at least 10,000 meals. Pretty amazing. Visit their website today to find out more about hosting an event in your community.
This is a cool nonprofit, but there’s more!
My Neighbor’s Children doesn’t just feed the impoverished, they also partner with Hand in Hand Soap to provide proper cleaning necessities to families in Haiti.
Last year they were able to distribute over 1 million bars of soap to the children of Haiti. That number only continues to grow, thanks to people like you and subscriptions like Crate of Good.
